About me

Since my earliest memories, I have always had a passion for design. I would drive my mother nuts by often rearranging my bedroom furniture. I would find myself looking at the layout of books and magazines more that reading them! In high school I was the yearbook photo editor and designed many of the spreads for our award winning books. After high school I didn't take the route to go into a design field. I received a BS from Michigan State University and took a job in retail management. To foster my crave for doing something with my design talent, I began decorating and sewing textiles for my home.

Years later I realized that I wanted to finally pursue a design career. Returning to school I received my certification as a graphic and web designer from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit Michigan. I remember saying to a friend, "I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to do this, its so much fun!" I realized not everyone would have my design passion but I found mine. For more than 5 years now I have been a freelance graphic designer. 

As I started my new career as a designer I began to submit designs to 99Designs to build my portfolio. I became a platinum designer and gained many private clients. I am certified to be a "logo and website" designer with them. During the process to get this certification my design was one of 58 to get the highest rating of 5 stars. There was a total of 1,657 designs submitted.

Today I continue to take new clients and love the blend of the artistic and technical challenges it takes to be a graphic designer. I enjoy learning and keeping up with new design/web trends. I still tend to look at the layout of printed materials first before I dive into reading but now relish any new tips and tricks I might learn to polish my design talent.
